How We Give
Zoo Nation is committing 100% of the profits from sales of the welcome mats to grassroots organizations that are dedicated to improving the communities we serve through individual and family enrichment programs. As Zoo Nation grows, giving partnerships will be forged with many organizations.
Areas of Primary Focus
- Mental Illness: We look for partnerships with organizations that are deep-rooted with family values and look at mental illness as a societal challenge. These organizations show a desire to align the individual and the caregiver with the appropriate healing and transformational tools to enable all to strive and co-exist in the community in which they live.
- Developmental Disabilities: We work with organizations that enhance the lives of people with disabilities by providing services, supports and programs that remove barriers for social, recreation, education and work opportunities.
- Youth Enrichment: We work with partners to enable them to create and sustain relevant programs that will enhance the education and social experience of students, especially those students who struggle financially and socially and are on the periphery of education. We will support programs that are paramount for the short and long term success of an individual’s academic career path.
Giving Partnership Principles
- Removing the Stigma: Still, in today's world, a lot of stigma and myths exist and are projected at the mental health community. We will work with our partners to raise awareness, showing the individuals that make up a community, that mental illness is an illness and requires treatment like any other illness.
- Committed to Family Solutions: Seeking partnerships that recognize the role of the family in a child's education and development, with the keen understanding of the broader community's responsibility to assure higher achievement and success within the family.
- Education: Greater understanding and higher education to the individual and the caregiver is critical in addressing many of our communities' challenges. We will commit to partners that are equally committed to both early learning and family support services.
